Church Treasurer position available

Balfron and Fintry Parish Church is looking for a new Treasurer to help guide our congregation’s finances with care, clarity, and ethical management in line with the values of the church.

This is a paid role requiring around 1-2 hours per week, with some flexibility during key periods like year-end reporting. Full support is provided on transfer from existing treasurer and office bearers.

What does the Treasurer do?
  • Maintain financial records and prepare a brief report for the Leadership team of the church (Kirk Session), held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month.
  • Submit annual accounts to OSCR and manage Gift Aid claims
  • Process payments and oversee banking
  • Support budgeting, stewardship, and fundraising efforts
  • Ensure transparency and compliance with charity regulations (OSCR)
You don’t need to be a professional accountant—just someone with integrity, basic financial literacy, and a knowledge of basic spreadsheets such as Excel, and Word. Training and guidance are available, and you’ll be part of a supportive team helping our church thrive.
